RaceDay is a motorsport calendar app developed by Maarten Rietdijk. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user. RaceDay is designed to work with minimal data collection.
Analytics (PostHog)
RaceDay uses PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics. This helps us understand how the app is used and which features are most valuable. The data collected includes app opens, which racing series are followed, which races are viewed, and whether notifications or subscriptions are enabled or disabled. All data is linked to a randomly generated device identifier and is not connected to your name, Apple ID, or any other personal information. No session recording or screen capture takes place. Data is processed on PostHog's EU servers.

Push Notifications (OneSignal)
If you grant permission for push notifications, RaceDay uses OneSignal to deliver schedule change alerts. OneSignal may collect a device push token, tags indicating which racing series you follow, and basic device information (device type, OS version).

Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
RaceDay uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions (RaceDay Pro). RevenueCat collects and processes purchase history and subscription status linked to your Apple ID to verify your entitlements and enable Pro features. RevenueCat does not collect payment information — all payments are processed by Apple. RevenueCat does not use this data for advertising purposes.

Weather Data (Apple WeatherKit)
When you open a race detail, RaceDay fetches current weather for the circuit location. This requires sending the circuit's geographic coordinates to Apple's servers. No personal information is sent.

Calendar Data
Race schedule data is loaded from a public GitHub repository. No personal data is sent in this process.
RaceDay offers a subscription ("RaceDay Pro") processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat, which verifies your purchase status and entitlements. We do not process or store any payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs all transaction data.
RaceDay may schedule local notifications on your device to remind you of upcoming sessions. This data never leaves your device and is managed entirely by iOS.
All user preferences are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not operate servers that store your personal data.
To improve performance and allow the app to function when no internet connection is available, RaceDay stores a copy of the race calendar data locally on your device. This cached data contains only public race schedule information and does not include any personal information. It is updated automatically in the background whenever the app is opened and a network connection is available.
Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and linked to your Apple ID. Anonymous analytics data is processed by PostHog on EU servers.

RaceDay does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app contains no age-restricted content.

Since we store no personal data on our servers, most requests can be fulfilled by deleting the app from your device, which removes all locally stored preferences and cached data. Anonymous analytics data collected via PostHog cannot be linked back to you personally. For data held by RevenueCat, please refer to their privacy policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or App Store update notes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
